Privacy Policy

Nurture Within Counseling PLLC ("we" or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of personal information of our clients and visitors to our website. This Privacy Policy outlines the types of information we collect, how we use it, and the steps we take to ensure its security.

**Exceptions:**

In certain circumstances, we may be obligated to disclose your information without your consent:

- Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse, for which we are required by law to report to the appropriate authorities immediately.

- If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s, we must notify the police and inform the intended victim.

- If a client intends to harm himself or herself, we will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in ensuring their safety. If they do not cooperate, we will take further measures without their permission that are provided to us by law in order to ensure their safety.

**Two R's to Consider Before Committing to Counseling:**

1. **Ready:** You need to be ready for therapy. There is no ideal time. It is not wrong if you don’t choose therapy at this time. The correct time for you will occur. Sometimes it will take your first visit to know if you are ready.

2. **Right Therapist:** You want to find the right therapist for you. Take advantage of free phone or in-person opportunities to evaluate your connection with a therapist. Feeling uncomfortable with a specific therapist does NOT indicate anything is wrong with you. If you choose to look for another, do not feel guilty. A healthy therapist will not feel hurt or offended because you did not choose them.

**Balancing the Benefits and Risks of Counseling:**

Choosing to engage in counseling will have benefits and risks. Please discuss any concerns you may have about either risks or benefits with us during our sessions.

**Data Security:**

We take data security seriously and have implemented appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
